An eye for beauty. A feeling for people.
I’m Khoi. Photographer, husband, father. Drawn to good light, unexpected humour, and the things people do when they forget they’re being watched.
For more than a decade, I’ve photographed weddings with one intention: to make something beautiful out of what is actually there. Pictures with a point of view. People who still look and feel like themselves.
It began with us.
My wife and I made our own wedding portraits with a camera, a tripod and a remote. What stayed with me was how much of us those pictures held. That feeling still guides the way I photograph other people.
Before photography, there was architecture and professional basketball. One taught me to see light and structure. The other taught me to read movement and trust my timing. Now those instincts meet in a crowded room, with a fraction of a second to make a photograph.
You live it. I pay attention.
Your wedding brings together people who may never all be in the same room again. I want you to have that room. The long hug, the terrible joke, the conversation you lose track of time in.
I get to know who matters to you, then stay alert to what happens between you. I move close when it feels right, give space when it matters, and offer guidance when it helps. You don’t need to know what to do for the camera. You need to feel comfortable being yourselves.
Real life. A considered frame.
A dark hallway. A crowded family home. A hug that lasts a second. These are the places where experience matters: finding light, anticipating a gesture, bringing order to a busy frame before the moment is gone.
I care deeply about composition, colour and timing. I also care that the moment belongs to you. The pleasure is in bringing those things together: a photograph that catches your eye, then gives you a reason to keep looking.
A point of view that stays yours.
Every wedding has its own rhythm, humour and small peculiarities. That is where I start. I want your photographs to carry the character of the people in them, with enough imagination to show you something you hadn’t noticed.
A trend can tell me what is popular today. The people in front of me give me a reason to press the shutter. Years from now, I want you to recognise how it felt to be there.
Recognition, earned through real moments.
This approach has brought international recognition: WPJA Top 3 in Asia in 2018, and Fearless Photographers’ No. 1 in Vietnam and Top 100 worldwide in 2020–2021.
Weddings and pre-wedding stories have taken me across Vietnam and to Australia, France, Italy, Spain, Iceland, Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia, among other places. Some stories ask a little more of us: three days and three nights trekking through the forest to photograph the first Vietnamese couple to have their pre-wedding session inside Hang Tien cave. I love what happens when people bring their own sense of adventure. Each journey asks me to adapt, look closer and find a way to make photographs that belong to the people living it. That is the experience I bring to your day, wherever it takes us.
For the people you will become.
Being a husband and a father changes what I notice. The hand on a shoulder. A parent watching from the edge of the room. The familiar gestures we barely think to photograph while they are still part of everyday life.
Those pictures grow in meaning. One day, your children may look through them to discover who you were, who loved you, and what it felt like when everyone was together. That is the visual legacy I want to help you make. If you care about photographs with character, and want the freedom to be present with your people, I’d love to hear your story.
